BiographyHistory

Aboriginal Gurindji Elder and artist Violet Wadrill has worked and lived on the Wave Hill Station. Her paternal grandfather's country is Jutamaliny. She worked extensively to document the Gurindji language and culture, including dictionaries and ethnobiologies.

Violet's artworks have toured nationally, including the exhibition 'In My Mind: Gurindji Location, Experience and Visuality'. 

In 2018, Violet was a finalist in the National Not-for-Profit Digital Technology Award for Story-Telling.
