Milly Nangala lived in Mount Peake tending nanny goats. She left Mount Peake to live at Willowra where her husband worked as a stockman. When the school started at Willowra, Nangala helped care for the children. In the mornings, the children had showers at school and Nangala would wash their clothes. When the children were taken out to hunt, she would sometimes help supervise. Nangala remembers the Coniston Massacre in 1928 in which many Indigenous people were killed in retaliation for the assault of a white drover.
