In the period after the Second World War tens of thousands of Slovene immigrants were accepted by Canada and Australia. Slovene emigrants in these countries developed a very vivid cultural and literary creativity. However, the artistic level of their works varies a lot. Among authors Ted Kramolc, Irma Marinčič Ožbalt, Ivan Dolenc, Cvetka Kocjančič excel in prose writing; as a critic and a translator Tom Ložar. On the other hand there are several good poets in Australia, for example, Bert Pribac, Jože Žohar, Pavla Gruden and several other, who write both in Slovene and in English. The feature is more and more obvious in both countries, but it is important that also authors of the second or the third generation of Slovene immigrants feel a spiritual link with the home of their parents, with Slovenia.
