BiographyHistory

Henry Bohm trained as a printer in London before emigrating to Australia in 1854. After working as a compositor on the Sydney Morning Herald, Bohm took charge of the printing department of the Ispwich Herald and General Advertiser. His first job as a journalist was at the Brisbane Courier, from which he moved to the Queensland Daily Guardian until it ceased publication in 1868. Bohm then moved to Townsville, where he edited the Cleveland Bay Express until his death, age 33, on 1 September 1872. From 6 August 1870 he was also the sole proprietor of the newspaper.
