Professor Kevin O'Brien is from Hammond Island in the Torres Strait. O'Brien is a Professor of Design at the Queensland University of Technology and a practising architect, and had established his own business in Brisbane in 2006, completing architectural projects thoughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and the Northern Territory.
