BiographyHistory

Faye Lynam's sole parent father informally fostered her out at the age of eight years in response to the continuous threat of removal. After losing touch with her family in childhood, Lynam located her brother and father when she was sixteen years old. She has worked as a Koori educator and fostered many children herself.

Lynam's story was recorded by the National Library for an oral history project and appeared in the associated publication Many Voices: Reflections on experiences of Indigenous child separation edited by Doreen Mellor and Anna Haebich (2002).
