'Composer, conductor and performer Gavin Lockley began his professional career at the age of eleven, singing the role of Gavroche opposite Anthony Warlow, in Cameron Mackintosh's production of Les Miserables at the Theatre Royal, Sydney, in 1989.

After completing his Bachelor of Music in Voice under Dr Michael Halliwell, at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Gavin won the Centenary of Federation Scholarship, allowing him to study for his Masters of Music in Germany. Whilst enrolled for his PhD at Magdalen College, Oxford, Gavin penned his epic orchestral work, the Symphony of Australia which was recorded by Sydney Symphony in 2007 and released by ABC Classics along with his first musical, Ballads of the Bush, based on iconic poems by Banjo Paterson, Henry Lawson and C J Dennis.'
