BiographyHistory

'Melbourne born Anthea Joanna is a poet, songwriter, and music composer. Having completed her Bachelor of Economics and Commerce at Melbourne University in 2001 (majoring in Philosophy and Marketing), Anthea Joanna moved to Brisbane where she worked for Pfizer and at the same time continued pursuing music playing festivals such as Livid and the Big Day Out, and supporting Australian artists such as Missy Higgins, Pete Murray and Diana Arnaid.

In 2004, Anthea moved to the UK and once again spent time working for Pfizer and still performing her songs throughout London and the West Country. She returned to Melbourne in 2008. One of the Australian Slam Poetry Victorian Champions, Anthea Joanna was honoured to perform her poetry at the Sydney Opera house on December 3rd, 2009. She was a finalist in 2010 at the Woodford Folk Festival Poetry Slam, and performed in February 2010 at Melbourne's Federation Square as part of the Sustainability Festival's Spokenhagan.'
