BiographyHistory

Dorothy Mirrimum Webster grew up in Innot Hot Springs on the Atherton Tablelands. Dorothy's father was Jack Congoo of the Barbarrum tribe and her mother Lily a Jidabul and Barbarrum woman, their language group Mbabaram.

Dorothy attended school at Mount Garnet, Ravenshoe High and Innisfail High, and when she left school held various positions as a Teacher Aide and Playgroup Coordinator and Artist. During a course in Indigenous Art at the Tropical North Queensland TAFE, Dorothy became interested in writing and illustrating.
