BiographyHistory

Born in Mildura, Hollier experienced his parents' separation and financial hardship during his childhood. After high school he attended Mildura Technical College for some time before arriving at Monash University in 1993. There he studied politics, economics and literature for his BA, and wrote a thesis on Australian poetry anthologies for his MA. Encouraged by Ian Syson, he became involved with Overland during his MA studies and was appointed co-editor in 2003. His PhD research focuses on Australian cultural life during the Whitlam years.(Age 3 November 2003). He has published widely on various aspects of Australian literature, society and culture, in a range of scholarly and popular forums.
