Toni Johnson-Woods is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland [2009]. She has written on television, popular and pulp fiction and 19th century Australian/British/American serialised fiction. She is currently researching the Australian pulp fiction industry (1939-1959) with particular emphasis on crime fiction authors 'Carter Brown' (Alan G. Yates) and 'Larry Kent' .

Johnson-Woods is a project leader in the AustLit Australian Popular Fictions Research Community.
