Although Brandon was born in and spent many years in Australia, his work (mostly detective stories) has been neglected in his home country with hardly any institutional holdings. Yet "Contemporary Authors" (vol. 112) comments that "his books...have been praised in recent years for their consistency of plot and depth of characterization."
