An account of the difficulties encountered by Andrew Jennings, the adopted son of Paul Jennings and his first wife, Carole. With Aboriginal heritage, Andrew Jennings encountered racism throughout his school life and this, together with his distress over intermittent contact with his birth mother, eventually led to criminal activity. Andrew Jennings' reading difficulties inspired his adoptive father to begin writing.
