Australian Children's Books, Vol 2 by Kerry White notes that 'the nationality of this author has not been established' however further research indicates that this author may have been living and writing in Australia in the 70s and 80s. Libraries Australia list a number of readers by a Gillian Palmer, co-authored with John Ellison published in Sydney by Bay Books in the early 70s. In the list of contributors in Up from Below : poems of the 1980s (1987), Palmer was living in New South Wales.
