W. S. Calvert (fl. 1886-1900) was a Melbourne artist and engraver, the son of Samuel Calvert, and grandson of Edward Calvert (qq.v.), both of whom were also engravers. He was a student at the National Gallery of Victoria's Design School in 1882 and joined his father's engraving business in Little Collins Street around 1886. Samuel Calvert worked as the artist of the business while W. S. Calvert carried out the engraving side, and he continued the business after his father returned to England. W. S. Calvert did the engravings for pictorial works such as Scenes and Life in Victoria (1898).
