Author note in Poetry Australia No. 133 : The verse play 'The World Faces Johnny Tripod' (pp.35-60) 'Now printed for the first time - the Radio Play version was produced by Rodney Wetherell of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation under the title 'Tail Arse Charlie', (euphemism for WWII Air Force tail gunners). It was broadcast on National Network - Anzac Day 1982 and 1983. Air gunner Johnny Tripod (John in this Play) was killed in action over Germany, 1944).
