  • Authorship of this poem was attributed by John Meredith (q.v.) to Will Ogilvie (q.v.) in Breaker's Mate : Will Ogilvie in Australia. However, the poem was originally published under one of Hugh McKay's pseudonyms and Peter Kirkpatrick (q.v.) (email to AustLit, October 1997) states that the poem is obviously in McKay's style.
