'The Red Diamond Navy is the story of amateur sailors in a fledgling navy, forged in the unforgiving crucible of World War Two. The sailors pit themselves against the experienced professionals of Nazi Germany and Facist Italy in the wild wastes of the South Atlantic and the harshly contested waters of the Mediterranean.
