Author's note: "Albrecht Haushofer's father was Hitler's geopolitical expert. But the son opposed the war from the beginning and organized a conspiracy to overthrow the regime .. he was arrested ... and shot in April 1945 in the last hours before Berlin fell." Hausofer's eighty sonnets were written in the Moabit jail in Berlin.
