'The motleyness of the crew of good ship Offset 17 was apparent to us all from the start. Never was there such a bunch of misfits; never was there a more appropriate academic mentor, I guess. Looking like a team auto-selected by one of VicUni’s diversity bots, Lina Bujupi, Jeevan Jeganathan, Liam Richards and Pauline Sawyer have been anything but the shambles the terms motley and auto-selection invoke. They have been a fantastic skeleton crew for a ship whose service might well be coming to an end. They have all learnt something about themselves; they have each performed little miracles.' 'Offset’s sixteenth edition is truly the collaboration of a community. One of writers, singers, filmmakers, artists, and much more. This year’s edition showcases work from across the world, from Shanghai to the Netherlands to all over Australia, returning finally to our backyard in the western suburbs of Melbourne. As we celebrate our sweet sixteenth, Offset acknowledges our contributors as the driving force behind this publication.' (Editorial introduction)

'This year at Offset, there has been a change in the wind. Expanding the journal’s content and beginning a new chapter of work, we have been tremendously privileged to build upon the great foundations that have been laid before us; from its inception as a literary journal to the fully fledged, multi-platform entity you see before you.'  (Editorial Introduction)
