First presented free to the public in six parts at the Perth Concert Hall on 19 July 1979.
Sponsored by The Arts and Entertainment Committee of the Western Australian 150th Anniversary Celebrations Board in association with Alcoa of Australia Ltd. and Central Norseman Gold Corporation.
It was produced, arranged and written by Alexander Turner with special musical arrangements by Verdon Williams and Peter Clinch. The production was narrated by David Moore and twelve other readers. The Wigmore Ensemble lead by Graham Wood (with other ten musicians), a nine member Choral Group, organist Evelyn Thompson, Sopranos Terry Johnson and Lesley Perrin, and baritone Edward Holding took part.
