An elderly man named Franz has a music shop where he crafts beautiful pipes. He takes a young boy named Hans as an apprentice. When Franz dies, Hans is grief-stricken. But Franz has bequeathed to Hans his old hat - a hat that may cause Hans some terrible trouble, and also bring him some great luck.
