      • Written as Guy Howarth.
      • Epigraph: Invited by Missy (aged three) to have tea out of her doll's service, I entered (as I thought) into the spirit of the party, lifting my cup with a flourish to savour the delicious imaginary brew. To my discomfiture, the hostess gravely disapproved. Delicately raising the fragile sevres to her lips and sipping, she said, with a fine mixture of reproof and instruction, "Do it nice, Guy!"
      • Dedication: To Bryan, the founder of the morsel.
