AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'The separate pieces of London Is My Lute ... ostensibly written from sundry places in the old and the new, originally appeared in the London Daily Chronicle and the Yorkshire Post. Here Winifred James writes affectionately of the amenities of London homes and ways, casual callers and shopping. She garners facets of things and incidents that charm the heart of the devotee, but are usually missed by the mere sight-see. She ends on a note of patriotism.' (Morris Miller, Australian Literature (1940) Vol.2, p. 514)
