AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Here is one view of the tropical belt of Queensland, or at least of one sector of that belt. It has not been possible to even suggest all the magnificence of climate and landscape that lies between the Tropic of Capricorn and Thursday Island. The Author therefore has had to content himself with recording his love for one corner of the Continent -- that served by the Port of Cairns. His enthusiasm may have led him to extravagances at times but for that he offers no apologies. His aim was to express that very enthusiasm' (from the Preface).
