Part two begins with the tableau, On the Way to Australia.

In 2002, while visiting Australia, Ariane Mnouchkine and members of Theatre du Soleil interviewed asylum seekers in the Villawood Detention Centre. Over 100 hours of taped interviews form the basis of 'Le Dernier Caravanserail : Odyssees'.
