A romance interwoven with the feuds of highland families. Highland games and festivals at Oban are described as well as the grandeur of mountain and loch scenery. Historical details of famous castles of Jacobite memory and many Jacobite and Gaelic songs and ballads are included. The book is more interesting for its literary and historical accessories than for the romance. (Miller)
