Notes

  • Editor's note: In May, 1940, a children's section was added to the Mildura Carnegie Library. In seven years it has expanded to a membership of 1500, occupies two rooms with reading tables, and is under the sympathetic supervision of Miss Alice M. Lapthorne, Librarian appointed by the Mildura City Council and author of Mildura Calling. In this article, Miss Lapthorne tells us something of the atmosphere of the library.
