Editor's note: One of the most attractive books for younger children produced in Australia in the past few years is Gundy, the story of a fat little piccaninny and his mate, Joey the Kangaroo, who 'go walkabout together'. Published in Perth, it is charmingly illustrated by its author, May Thomas, who knows how aborigine boys look and act, and who has made an appealing picture-story of a loveable little Australian.
