Notes

  • Author's note: This play was written at Viareggio in 1893, and passed an uneventful though not unchequered existence for six years before being produced By Mrs Patrick Campbell. This version is not exactly that which was acted, though it is much nearer to the acted version than to the original play as it stood before I had the benefit of Mrs Campebll's vivid and helpful criticism.

Production Details

  • First produced by Mrs Patrick Campbell at the Princess of Wales Theatre, Kensington, 19 June 1899.
