AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Nothing ever seems to go smoothly for Horrie Kiwi. At his wedding to the beautiful Clara someone almost falls into the cake. Then there's the invasion of belligerent bugs, nosy neighbours to cope with, a cock-eyed christening, a kidnapper lurking and ... why, even on the kiwi family holiday Horrie is not left in peace. But with Clara and the kids he eventually manages to live happily ever after.' (Back cover)

Notes

  • Dedication: 'To David Noel Thomas, my dear little nephew. With the sincere wish that he may find many happy hours looking at "Horrie" and his children.'
  • 'Horrie Kiwi and the Kids was written over forty years ago but was not published, probably because of wartime restrictions which made colour printing impossible. Now Dorothy Wall's clear and lovely colour and black and white illustration can be seen in all their beauty, alongside a text brought amusingly up to date by David Harris, and can be enjoyedb y young children everywhere.'
