'X-Ray is about the detention of David Hicks, one of the alleged illegal combatants held in Cuba since the U.S. led invasion of Afghanistan.
'The Hicks character tells of growing up in Adelaide, the appeal of and his study of Islam, and how he came to find himself bearing arms in Afghanistan.
'Hicks is portrayed as a larrikin character who found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, and who has been poorly treated by the Australian government, the only one of forty-one nations whose citizens are detained which has not protested at their detention, which is itself not in accord with The Geneva Convention of 1949.'

Under Mulga Wood

humour
'A humorous play for voices based on Dylan Thomas's Under Milk Wood, that writer William Christie playfully describes as 'an imitation'. The chorus of country characters (five blokes and four sheilas) dream aloud and prepare for a day at work, or school. We're treated to a glimpse of the daily lives of these townsfolk, who mostly end up at the local pub, (with the blokes in the bar and the sheilas in the lounge) until they find their ways home - to bed, and back to sleep and dreams - where it all started. There is a sense that their colourful dreams exist in borrowed time and that the struggle to exist in such a place, in the first place, in such a manner, was a madness of sorts, a hangover from Australia's colonial past.'

- y Salt Creek Murders Melissa Reeves , Hobart : Australian Script Centre , 2004 Z1381518 2004 single work drama crime Jane Macmanamin starts work as a domestic at the Salt Creek Hotel, an isolated frontier out-post. The first thing she witnesses is an adulterous embrace between Nellie, her employer, and Malachi Martin, a yard-hand. A week later, Nellie's husband, John Robinson is murdered. Over the course of the play the lives of Nellie, Malachi and Jane become disturbingly intertwined, a triangular relationship of love, greed, fear and desire, leading remorselessly to a tragic conclusion. As the Hotel deteriorates, and money is scarce, Malachi commits another murder in which Nellie may or may not be complicit, and Jane seems unable or unwilling to extricate herself from an increasingly perilous situation. Alongside this is a separate but related narrative, the story of a friendship, both poignant and funny, between a trooper and an aboriginal tracker, as they pursue Malachi for his crimes. Salt Creek Murders is based on the true story of a series of murders committed in the 1850s in the Coorong in South Australia.

Sold
Suzie Miller
,

drama
'Sold is the story of Anthony, Hilary and Stan - all selling real estate in a second rate agency - all aspiring to the great sale! But what have they relinquished to be a player in a world where money spells success, relationships are contracted out, intimacy is relegated to the too-hard basket, morgage insecurity is the norm and positive thinking is the new religion?
Both hilariously funny and heartbreakingly sad - Sold deals with the questions that are in the minds of all of us - the unspoken fear that 'this is it' 'this is the life we have - the only one - and what are we doing with it?' 'is this good enough?'.'
