AbstractHistoryArchive Description
'On 24 May 1871, Anthony Trollope and his wife Rose sailed for Australia on board the SS Great Britain. Trollope was not entirely satisfied with Isambard Kingdom Brunel's design of the great ship and asked the ship's carpenter to make some changes to his cabin and build in a desk so that he could write on the voyage.'
