  • Author's note: In July 1976, in Chowchilla, California, 26 school children and their bus driver were kidnapped by three men in their twenties, who forced the victims inside a removal van buried in a quarry. The captives were underground for 16 hours before freeing themselves. The three men are still serving life sentences
