Marek Battero (Baterowicz), poeta y escritor polaco nos ofrece su primer libro escrito en lengua española - lengua que le cautivó durante su exilio en España. Aun residiendo en Polonia tradujo a varios poetas y autores de habla hispana: Vicente Aleixandre, Jorge Carrera Andrade, Elisio Diego, Jorge Luis Borges, Horacio Quiroga, Ricardo Guiraldes o Roberto Juarroz. Su inclinación por esta cultura se refleja incluso en su tesis de doctorado en al cual investigó sobre las contribuciones españoles en las obras de los poetas franceses de los siglos XVI y XVII. Su gran interés por España se nota también en estos cuentos surrealistas de las cigüeñas que evocan al mismo tiempo los problemas universales de nuestro planeta. [Back cover] [Marek Baterowicz, Polish poet and writer, presents to us his first book written in Spanish, a language that captivated him during his exile in Spain. While living in Poland he translated the works of various Spanish language writers: Vicente Aleixandre, Jorge Carrera Andrade, Elisio Diego, Jorge Luis Borges, Horacio Quiroga, Ricardo Guiraldes and Roberto Juarroz. His inclination for this culture is reflected as well in his doctoral thesis in which he investigated Spanish contributions in the works of French poets of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. His great interest in Spain is also noted in these surrealist tales of storks, which at the same time evoke the universal problems of our planet.
