AbstractHistoryArchive Description

The Monitor's editor notes the receipt of the first issue of the Colonial Advocate and Tasmanian Monthly Review and Register and expresses disappointment that Andrew Bent and Robert Lathrop Murray were unable to continue their publishing partnership. The Monitor's editor offers the opinion that 'Van Diemen's Land is as little capable of supporting two Magazines or Registers as New South Wales is three. Two out of our three must go down and so we are afraid must Mr. Murray's or Mr. Bent's.'
