In 2011, footballer Mark Schwarzer lodged an application to renovate his property at 14 Pacific St, Watsons Bay. The house is the former home of novelist Christina Stead. Despite some local objections, approval was given by the Woollahra Council for Schwarzer to proceed. In 2012, however, the property was listed for sale with no mention of the development application approval.Note: col. illus.

Neither award will be presented in 2012 during the Sydney Writers' Week, as has been the practice in recent years. The review was completed in November 2011, but had not been released by March 2012.
