Although the poem heads the second section of Pamietnik poetycki, 'Wiersze z różnych lat, miejsc i chwil' [Poems from various years, places and moments], it seems intended as a kind of preface to the whole collection as it ends with lines offering the reader a 'poetycki pamiętnik' [poetic memoir].
