      • The climactic final scene indicates the way in which control of the staging was split between author and director. The stage directions read:

        'AS THE LOCATION CANNOT BE SEEN BY THE WRITER, THIS CHASE HAS BEEN DISCUSSED AND WILL BE LEFT ENTIRELY TO THE DISCRETION OF THE DIRECTOR. IT WILL LAST FOR 3.51 SECONDS AND WILL TERMINATE ROBERTS ON A HIGH POSITION ON THE SHIP. HE WILL FIRE AT PATT, WILL BE SHOT AND FALL TO HIS DEATH ON THE DECK.'

      • Some annotations have been made to the script in blue ink (seemingly in a different ink and a different hand than the annotations on the cast list), but very few. The annotations in the script seem to be directorial notes (indicating, for example, when a character walks into

      • The script is labelled 'Episode NE' on the cover page. '303' has been added in dark-blue ink. A notation in the upper right-hand corner of the cover page indicates that this copy of the script was designated for 'File'.
