Jane Turnbull (nee Duff) b. 1857 d. 1932 (International) assertion In 1864, Jane Duff was feted as a hero when, as a seven year old, she cared for her brothers children Isaac (9) and Frank (4), when they were lost for nine days in the Wimmera. The Duff children were found by Aboriginal tracker King Richard (Djungadjinganook) (d. 1870).

Beryl T. Mitchell (a.k.a. Beryl T. Duff-Tytler) (2 works by fr. 1996) Beryl Mitchell was the daughter of a fourth-generation tea-planting family in Sri Lanka. Australian born, Alli Sinclair has travelled widely, including Nepal and a period spent living in Argentina and Peru, where she worked as a mountain guide and tour guide.

She also volunteers with Books in Homes Australia, a charitable organisation originally founded in New Zealand by Maori author Alan Duff, designed to deliver books of the children's choice to remote and very remote regions, especially in Far North Queensland, the Northern Territory, and Western Australia.
