BiographyHistory

When she was about three years old, her parents placed June in the Warburton mission dormitory because there was no food in the bush. Richards says that she was well cared for by the United Anglican Mission staff. She went to school in Warburton, Western Australia. Richards was one of the contributors to the Ngaanyatjarra-Ngaatjatjarra to English Dictionary (2003).

In 2008 Richards won the Western Australian Artist Award for her art works which address contemporary issues confronting Indigenous Australians.
