BiographyHistory

Graeme Koetsveld's career as a television scriptwriter began in the early to mid-1970s when he began contributing episodes to a number of Crawford Productions series, notably Matlock Police (1974-76), The Box (1975), Homicide (1976) and Skyways (1979). In 1979 one of his scripts for an episode of the Crawford's drama, The Sullivans, picked up an AWGIE Award for Best Television serial.

During the 1980s and 1990s Koetsveld was engaged to write scripts for numerous television serials and mini-series, notably Robbery Under Arms (1985), A County Practice (1990-92, 1994), Blue Heelers ( 1994), Janus (1994), G.P. (1992-95), Fallen Angels (1997) and Good Guys, Bad Guys (1997-98). Since 2000 he has worked on such shows as SeaChange (2000), Water Rats (2000-01), Corridors of Power (2001), Stingers (2001) and 2003s Fat Cow Motel.

In addition to his television credits Koetsveld was employed as Script Editor on Scott Hicks' 1982 feature film Freedom.

Water Rats is an Australian police television series which was broadcast on the Nine Network between 1996 and 2001. The series was based around the men and women of the Sydney Water Police who fight crime across Sydney Harbour and surrounding locales. The show was set on and around Goat Island in Sydney Harbour.
