Notes

  • This was originally an ABC children's preschool television series about a group of toys living in a young boys' bedroom, the boy was called Michael and the toys were Johnson the elephant, McDuff the Concertina, Robot Squeaky, dump truck Diesel and gruff water bottle Alfred. All were scripted by John Patterson. It has been recognised in many awards here and overseas. Series one and series two were both finalists in the International Emmy Awards (USA) and series two won an AWGIE for Best Original Children's Drama Winner in 1992.

  • Many of the books were illustrated by stills from the television series.
